La La La La La Elmo's World...

I'm participating in The Parent Bloggers Network Blog Blast for Extreme Toy Shopping! You've got to check out the "Huge" Hasbro Toy Event, they are offering "FREE" shipping and you definately can't beat that with the sky high gas prices! Did you know that Hasbro has not re-called not one toy or game due to lead paint? As an added bonus: Hasbro will donate 1 toy for every toy or game that you buy to children in need. For more info watch this hilarious Youtube video!

"Elmo's World" theme music playing in the background: lyrics for those of you who aren't familiar with this addictive song, sung by Elmo (voice of Kevin Clash) of course!

La-la la-la
La-la la-la
Elmo's world

La-la la-la
La-la la-la
Elmo's world

Elmo loves his goldfish
His crayon, too

(Elmo pulls down the shade and draws the title "Elmo's World" on it with his crayon)

That's Elmo's World!

Okay enough with the lyrics.. My son Gabriel (17 months old) looooooves, did I say loves? I meant is silly over Elmo! His #1st Birthday was Elmo themed (seriously Elmo's World , with Elmo, Dorothy the Goldfish, and Mr. Noodle). Don't believe me check out this picture here:

We have Elmo's World on DVD, he watches Elmo every morning on Sesame Street, he adores the little red Monster, heck we even have movies featuring non other than Elmo! I'm surprised Elmo wasn't his first word!

Well his birthday was February 24th and I had everything all planned out or so I thought... I got together the Elmo's World cake a week prior, just happened to be the last set of Elmo's World cake toppers at our local bakery (thank the Good Lord!), doing good soo far. Ordered the Elmo Hand Puppet by Gund (he adores puppets, they make him giggle soo much) , found some Elmo themed board books and coloring books at Target, a couple new episodes of Elmo's World on DVD, and even to top it off a cute Birthday card featuring "Elmo"!

I figured that was a good amount of "Elmo" and proceeded to add a few more toys that I thought he would enjoy for the big "1"!

Now, I was doing most of this shopping of course before his birthday and you know the major holiday in February is "Valentines Day"! Well thanks to a Wal-Mart sales ad I saw a "New" limited time offer for ... can you guess? If you can't guess by now your simply not paying attention to who this is all about, the little red Monster... remember now? Yeah ELMO! "Many Kisses Elmo"... I had to have it... I mean HE had to have it... LOL He actually blows "kisses", according to the sales ad.. how cool is that? It would promote lovey doveyness (is that a word? if not I just made it up, add it to Webster, please!) and he even says "Elmo Loves You", next it would be "Gabriel" Loves you Mommy and the blowing of cute lil' kisses, I just knew it, hoped, wished, even prayed (yeah he still doesn't say Mommy or loves you.. but hey I try!).

I was off to Wal-Mart with just a few days before Valentine's.. believe me this was soo not a good time to be looking for anything red, plush, that could talk, that took batteries, especially that blew kisses and said "I love you!". I searched the aisles frantically for this special "Elmo" that my son had to have! All the while Gabriel has no idea what was going on (yes he was with me.. he wasn't even 1 yet.. like he would even remember all this, LOL), just having fun watching his Mother trip out at the fact that she had been defeated on getting him the 1 thing that stood out among the rest (at least I thought that).

I was about to give up after I asked one of the employees who seem to be hiding when customers have a question or need, of course they didn't even know what I was talking about.. I felt I was at my wits end!

Now remember I am preggo and was preggo back in February, only like 2 months along but enough to have the cravings already start, well I was craving chocolate so I decide to enter the grocery side of the Super Wal-Mart instead of the regular Wal-Mart side.. that sounds weird but that's how it is here, 2 different areas for candy in the same store. I decided on some on Hershey's Chocolate bars and low and behold there HE was! I knew it was Destiny! God had answered my prayers.. okay I didn't pray but I was wishing. I looked around to see if anyone else had spotted my excitement at finding such a treasure.. no one else on the aisle, great cause if they had seen me I was doing a lil' dance and Gabriel was giggling at me and of course he saw the Red, furry, loveable lil' monster and wanted to hold the box, so I let him!

I felt victorious, I felt like I had climbed the highest mountain when all I had really done was bent down to pick up a box of Hershey's Bars and saw the "ultimate" gift hiding almost waiting for "us"! It was a "Super Mommy" moment people!

Gabriel had a great #1st Birthday and enjoyed all the warm red fuzziness of Elmo and of course to this day Elmo is still his favorite! La La La La La La La La Elmo's World, remember "Elmo Loves You!"
