I'm spreading the word about the new iDog's at Burger King, check out the cuties at Club BK toys ! iDog toys light up and come with a costume and sticker sheet, but they’ll only be at Burger King through November 2. They don’t bite, don’t shed, and don’t need to be walked. Sounds like the perfect starter pet to us!
As a child growing up I have had several pets over the years. My Mom says when I was a lil' one too young to remember we had birds and then we had some lil' fishies (unfortunately they don't live forever).
Then there were the puppies, kitties, and even a few hamsters! Of course we unfortunatly moved quite often and most of the times we couldn't bring our pets along due to apartment restrictions, etc...
Now my family and I are pet-free, we are waiting until we move to Rhode Island next year into hopefully a "home" with a enclosed yard. I want to be able to spend just as much time with our new pet so the children can learn the responsibility and care a pet takes no matter if you start out with a few fish or a puppy.
Every time I've visited our local pet store my son Gabriel (20 months old) loves the fish, so that may be what we decide to go with first when we move. Unfortunately I'll have to deal with (unless he doesn't notice) the fishies short life span, but they can be easily replaced.. its a bit different when it comes to cats, dogs, big animals.. you get my drift! I'm sure we've all had our lil' fishy situation. If not then I'll feel like a terrible Mother but I know that's what my parents had done when I was a young child.
My husband wants a puppy (funny shouldn't it be the kids? LOL) a pittbull puppy to be exact.. I'm a bit iffy about this due to the "horror" stories on those type of dogs but I'm willing to do much more extensive research and at least wait until we choose any "puppy" after the kids are older, I'm talking school age here! I did tell him about the new lil' iDog's and he laughed at me.. well I'm definately going to Burger King to get a few for the kids, heck I even want one! I'm a kid at heart, seriously!
I for myself would love one of those ragdoll kittens, those blue eyes really do mesmerize! My dream dog has always been a white German shepherd, but I think I'll just have to keep dreaming there. ~smiles~

Before Helana was born we did have 2 sweet kittens, they were sweet up until the point that they chewed several of my cell phone chargers and were starting on the laptop cords.. Sorry but Mommy blogging is something I "LOVE" to do and the laptop is a valuable piece of equipment and I can just replace it like that! So I found a good home for the both of them, where they could chew on someone else's cords, just not mine! I love animals I truly do but cats seem to be either angels or lil' devils, and they are impossible to train!
