I figured I'd post a re-cap of what has been going on soo far in December of 2008 for me and my family!
As of December 13th my second son Gabriel (22 months old on the 24th) has been in New Jersey, spending the Holiday with his Nanna (Grandmother) and Father. This has been very difficult for me soo far. I miss him dearly and everytime I see another lil' boy around the same age it pulls on my heart strings. But as we all know with a blended family we have to "share" holidays and visitation. I've shared some collages with pictures I took a few days and the day before he had left.

Helana is growing growing and did I say growing? She's going to be 4 months old on January 9th! Time just seems to fly when you have children, doesn't it? She just started actually laughing! For the first time ever actually laughing just yesterday! I was thrilled, and she has soo far said "Ma Ma".. Not "Da Da", "Ma Ma"! I was shocked! She also is such a happy lil' girl and full of bright big smiles!

Devin turned "4" on December 16th! I'm still awaiting pictures from his Birthday party, as soon as I have them I'll post some up for you to see! As for now here is a picture that was taken in December of him by his Father in Iowa! He was very excited to recieve gifts from me for his Birthday and Christmas, I heard he opened up the 2nd box I sent.. before his Birthday and Christmas but its the joy on his face that I was looking for, so I don't care when he had opened them!

I unfortunately have been sick on and off... I don't know if you can tell from my pictures.. I look "ALOT" thinner... Its not a blessing, its more of a curse. If you are just stumbling upon my blog, I have Crohn's Disease and am apparently going through a flare up. I went to the ER the first weekend of December, last Friday actually got an appointment with a GI and am awaiting a Small Bowel Series test with Radiology, if not this week.. (yeah with Christmas, oh JOY) next week for sure. FYI a Small Bowel Follow Thru, is a test with Radiology for a Barium X-Ray. Its not much fun at all but I'm hoping to figure out what the issue is so I can feel well again. Its not fun being sick especially not with the Holidays going on. I was prescribed Prednisone, Pentasa, and 6 MP Mercaptopurine to help with the inflammation and to hopefully help me gain the much needed weight. I was stuck at 100 lbs right after Helana was born and since then I have dropped all the way down to..... 82 lbs.... remember not a blessing , a curse. I hate being this skinny and also people thinking I'm anorexic or something. Please pray for all to go well with the test and hopefully the results with resolve alot of the pain and suffering I've been going through for the last month.
I've sent out over 20 Christmas cards this year, and soo far I have recieved 6. I'm wondering what happened to everyone? I do know the economy is horrible but to not be able to send out Christmas cards? An e-card would do too... but next year I'm only sending to those who actually made the effort to send one this year. Almost everyone knows my email address... so I have no idea what has been going on, unless the postal service is slow?
I'm excited about the New Year! 2009 will bring a new home, new address, new State to explore, and much more fun for the family! I am soo excited to move to Rhode Island and Phillip has re-enlisted with the Navy (the best choice in my opinion) with the next tour (3 years) to be Shore Duty!!! I've been in Virginia since 2003 and for me its time for a change. I think it will help with a lot that has been going on. Plus I hear Rhode Island is beautiful and there is lots to do and much history! I'll also be able to put my photography skills to the test!
I'm waiting until Gabriel gets back on the 10th of January to celebrate our "Christmas", we celebrate most Holiday's afterwards.. its sort of our tradition.
We do have our trees up though and will continue to leave them up the whole month of January. I'm off to holiday shop for Helana after Christmas, better bargains! I've noticed that a lot of the popular items have been raised in price for children which is sad to me because they know we as parents are out looking for that special gift and for us to pay double just due to a holiday is burdening! Remember online shopping is always a plus, you can compare prices and if your lucky get free shipping!
What has been going on in your family at the end of this year? I hope all is well with everyone and that you all have a joyous holiday!

Hi Kristinia-
I am new to your blog and had to comment on the Christmas card blurb.
This was the first year we have not sent out cards due to us cutting WAY back on expenses. We normally send a pic to Shutterfly and send out over a hundred cards, so the savings was substantial. I felt kinda bad at first, however started getting a LOT of emails from people explaining that THEY had not sent out cards this year, either. I even got some 'e-christmas cards' instead of the regular 'snail mail' ones.
After reading your post though, maybe I should have sent out something.....oh well. There is always next year!!
Your baby(ies) are adorable and I love your blog. Hope you can check mine out too.
