My views:
I only have a family of 4, with 3 of us who actually eat food, Helana won't be using her lil' chompers till she's 6 months old. You'd think with basically 2 adults and a 22 month old boy we wouldn't be spending around $400 to $500 a month on groceries... well we do.. and its because we didn't really have any structure and we had no idea on where to begin either... I'd procrastinate about putting a list together and just using the walk down every aisle in the supermarket option.. this my friends is a very BAD idea.. and oh yeah never go grocery shopping HUNGRY or PREGGO either unless a list is taped to your forehead!
I loved the simple tips for eating right and eating healthy, this is something we ALL need starting now, not yesterday, not tomorrow, right NOW!
She proves that you can save money. One simple task will show you just how much you and your family spend on convenience foods aka fast food. Just take receipts for the week and if you dare the whole month to see how much your blowing on meals that aren't quite the healthiest for you or your family. True story, I tallied up how much my Husband spent on fast food for breakfast and lunch for a 5 day work week and it ended up being almost $400 ... can you believe that? With $400.00 I could have meals for at least 2 maybe even 3 months! A Month of Meals shows you how you can actually run off of a budget for your meals and eat healthy!
He's making a list, he's checking it twice.. oops that Santa, not Mommy! Yes, you need a LIST for grocery shopping, if you don't have a LIST you will not be prepared to make meals or even save any money on your grocery bill! You will actually end up wasting your time and your money.
She shows you how easy it is to make meals ahead of time and freeze for later, saving you more time, believe you me,Mom's all need some extra time for other things and not spent slaving away in the kitchen.
You can save, you can be flexible, and best yet you can have fun. I really enjoyed reading A Month of Meals and applying it to my family. We are actually spending less, making more meals, and just re-heating alot of them later on! It saves us time and money! A Month of Meals is very informative and fun!
