When you have a child or children, the holidays are supposed to be fun, especially for the kids because in my opinion the holidays are for the smiles on their faces and of course the reasons for the seasons.
For my angels, I have a bit of a different approach to the holiday traditions.
Halloween last year for Gabriel was basically putting him in a cute costume, 2 of them actually. He was dressed up as a Lil' Lion (my choice) and Superman (I chose this for his Father, his Father loves Superman). I took pictures, the family oohed and aahed, no worries about candy, or even trick or treating because he was only 8 months old.

Last Halloween, he was 20 months old, again we had 2 costumes. I chose a super hero theme (Super G (Gabriel) and his Nanna chose a Skunk. Funny how that worked out? Super Hero and a Skunk.. well another super hero and an animal, LOL
