The Sound of Music has restored the original cast recording in a new edition that features three unusual bonus tracks, extensive liner notes about the show’s history by Bert Fink of the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization, and rarely seen photos of the recording sessions, held November 22, 1959, in Columbia Records’ celebrated 30th Street Studios.

Thanks to Masterworks Broadway and Simon & Schuster, we can relive the magic again and hopefully  you'll want to share this wonderful edition with your children and grandchildren!

My son loved the sing-song "Do-Re-Mi". He was singing the Do-Re-Mi and the ABC part, it was extremely cute! I love "My Favorite Things", until I heard this collection, I did not know that "My Favorite Things" was from The Sound of Music! Its one of my favorite Christmas songs!

You will love this classic, your children will want to sing along. I'm going to be purchasing the Pop-Up book from Amazon to go along with this enchanting musical masterpiece and since I've never seen The Sound of Music, I'll pick that up too!
