Each sunrise seems to bring fresh reasons for fear.
They're talking layoffs at work, slowdowns in the economy, flare-ups in the Middle East, turnovers at headquarters, downturns in the housing market, upswings in global warming. The plague of our day, terrorism, begins with the word terror. Fear, it seems, has taken up a hundred-year lease on the building next door and set up shop. Oversized and rude, fear herds us into a prison of unlocked doors. Wouldn't it be great to walk out?
Imagine your life, wholly untouched by angst. What if faith, not fear, was your default reaction to threats? If you could hover a fear magnet over your heart and extract every last shaving of dread, insecurity, or doubt, what would remain? Envision a day, just one day, where you could trust more and fear less.
Can you imagine your life without fear?

My thoughts on Max Lucado's "Fearless: Imagine Your Life Without Fear":
This is a very moving book. We all have fears of some sort whether they be considerd big or small.
I'm afraid of drowning, I won't even wade into water that's past my shoulders for fear of slipping into the abyss below. I can swim but I've always been sketchy about water, whether its a pool, a lake, a river. It may have been the fact that I learned to swim later in life rather than earlier.
But when it comes to things that may seem more extreme, like for example being threatened or treated in a harmful way I'm not fearful. I have faith that God will take care of me and the issue at hand. Funny how fear is! The goal is to not invite fear in, to have Faith, and my faith comes from God!
Did you know that fear is not a sin but it can lead to sin? Fear can keep us from accomplishing the goals in life that God has for us! Max Lucado shows us in "Fearless" how we can overcome these fears with scripture and our faith in God. He's even included a discussion guide in the back of the book, this would be used greatly in Sunday school or even a cell group meeting! Get together with your friends, talk about your fears, whether they be big or small, and use your faith to get through them!
