Halloween 2010
How did your Halloween go this year? Did you take your children Trick-or-Treating or did you attend Halloween festival type events in the month of October?
I unfortunately was feeling way under the weather so we did not go Trick-or-Treating. Helana is still a bit young (she's 2 yrs old) and doesn't quite understand the concept of the whole tradition. I was informed that my son Gabriel (age 3) went Trick-or-Treating, as soon as I recieve some pictures I will create a Halloween collage.
Helana had 2 costumes this year. We went with Sesame Street's "Abby Cadabby" and a Good Witch by Carter's Clothing. I actually got a costume too, to kind of go along with her Sesame Street theme, I had the female version of "Elmo" by Sassy. I will be updating with pictures... LOL When Gabriel returns home from spending time with his other family he will see he has "2" play costumes of Cookie Monster and Elmo. I believe encouraging creative play with dress up is a year round activity and not just around the holidays!
I did attend a few farms for pumpkin/apple picking, a downtown trick or treat in the area, and we also went to Build a Bear in October and picked out the Candy Corn Bear and even adorned her with a costume! As far as candy, cookies, and cakes goes, Helana won't eat any of that yet! (thank GOD!)
We are now ready for Thanksgiving and you know just around the corner is Christmas. I'm already wanting to put up a Christmas Tree because it seems Christmas is here and then gone!
