This Thanksgiving we have a lot to be thankful for! First and foremost I'm always blessed to have family and friends! My children are all healthy, my health has been a bit better (another post coming on this), my husband is home from his second deployment and this will be our "first" Thanksgiving in our own home!
For our Thanksgiving dinner we went a different route, instead of me slaving in the kitchen for 8 people! Yes, 8 people this year! (my immediate family is staying with us) Usually its just myself and the children and his side of the family and if my husband isn't deploaeed he's with me.
Due to the hustle and bustle of getting situated in North Carolina, I didn't have a whole lot of time to whip a big holiday dinner all together in time! Not to mention fridge space!
I went with a special that was ongoing at our local grocery store (Harris Teeter).
We got the following:
Turkey Dinner (Serves 8-10 people)

- 9-12 lb Fully Cooked Butterball Turkey
- 2 lbs Fresh Cornbread Dressing
- 2 lbs Fresh Green Bean Supreme
- 2 lbs Fresh Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes
- 1 lb. Turkey Gravy
- 1 lb Cranberry Relish
all of that for only $49.99!!!
Could you serve 8-10 people for that price? It probably is possible with extreme couponing and months in advance planning! But for me not having a whole lot of time or fridge space this was the best bet in my opinion!
I did add on some Extras!
The Extras:
1 dozen Brown & Serve Rolls
1 gallon Fresh Foods Market tea
and a 9 inch Baked Pumpkin Pie
this was an additional $8.99!
